Environment
Also called: market environment, market conditions, this environment
The overall market condition that determines whether setups have a chance of working. A perfect setup in a bad environment will fail most of the time and you'll spend months wondering what's wrong with your entries when the entries were fine. Context beats setup every time and the environment is always the first thing I evaluate.
In Context
“Friday made a new low and the further down we go the better the environment and opportunities coming out of it will be.”
Remember This Week·Digest
“Not a high probability environment.”
Fast Flush or Slow Death?·Digest
“Solar and energy was the relative strength theme going in so I leaned into the dip with a couple positions, still operating under the assumption that this environment rewards buying weakness.”
Death by a Thousand Cuts·Digest
“IREN, NBIS, CIFR all with A+ weekly bases, in a really poor environment”
Death by a Thousand Cuts·Digest
“The environment has been poor and I've been way too active in it, and even if the market turns strong next week at the pace I'm going I'm just chopping away at my mental capital and I wouldn't even be in the right headspace to take advantage of it.”
